Modified CIERA Classroom Observations – Spring

  • 8 teachers per school
  • 6 during the school day. 
    • In departmentalized schools:  1 randomly selected language arts teacher at 6th, 7th, and 8th grades, and 1 randomly selected teacher of math, social studies, and science
    • In non- Surveys – Spring departmentalized, 2 teachers per grade, randomly selected if necessary.  One per grade teaching language arts, and one per grade teaching another core subject

2 during the extended day – the LIT and one other, randomly selected if necessary
